Airplane Pilot Training

Private Pilot
Airplane (PPL-ASEL) -
Course Duration: 4-weeks - Utilizing the C-150.
Although FAA regulations require only 40-hours, few if any students can
accomplish the rating in that amount of time. Most can however accomplish the
rating in 45-55 hours. This program is based on 50-flight hours. There are
several variations available for this course, call to discuss the plan that
suits you best!

Airplane Instrument Rating - Course Duration:
4-weeks - FAA regulations require 40-hours of instrument
experience with approximately .2 per flight hour for ground maneuvering
which equates
to a total of 48 hours. It is of tremendous advantage for the student to fly
this entire rating with an instructor verses the safety pilot method; by
doing so the students confidence and abilities are greatly enhanced. This
method also benefits instructors building time.
| 48-hours Instrument Instruction* |
$6,240 |
| Ground Training (Classroom) |
$1,350 |
| Books and Materials |
$300 |
| Practical and Written Exams |

| Use of Shared Car 4-weeks ($75 week) |

| Total |
$9,280 |
* We do not
utilize the option of safety pilot since the savings is minimal and since
the student will gain significantly more benefit when flying the entire
duration with an instructor. The student will greatly appreciate the
difference. Since each hour of flight requires approximately .2 for
taxi/takeoff/landing, the 40-hours required for the instrument check-ride
requires a total of 48-hours training.
Airplane
Commercial Pilot Rating (ASEL) - Course Duration:
Variable - FAA regulations require 250-hours of experience prior
to the commercial check-ride. This experience must include training in a
complex airplane, and the airplane utilized for the check-ride must also be
complex. Although an instrument rating is not necessary for the check-ride,
it is highly recommended since a restriction will be placed on the
commercial certificate without it. There are many variations in the way a
pilot may achieve the hours required for the commercial check-ride and
therefore it is difficult to include an average cost. The following program
is variable but a good start for calculating average costs.
